WACK HAC

When I was learning how to HAC I made a plethora of mistakes. Some of them took me years to figure out so I thought I would help you guys skip to the chase in case anyone was missing some of the same things I was! What I used: Contour Do’s: IIID Foundation in Walnut Alternative option: NYX Blush in Taupe NYX Eye Pencil in Taupe Contour Don’ts: Bare Minerals in Warmth (unless you are really warm and tan to begin with) or anything that isn’t a grayish brown Highlight Do’s: IIID Foundation in Sunlit Alternate option Clinique Even Better Concealer in Buttermilk or Jane Irridale Lemon primer Highlight Don’ts: Anything too fair or cool toned. Illuminator: IIID Pretty in pearl Have a fun weekend!

Small tweeks make a BIG difference.

Sometimes makeup can actually hide your natural beauty. Which is not cool. The cool thing is that with the same amount of time and money you are already putting in you can show YOU off rather than going undercover. There are a few pitfalls that I think most people (me included) have fallen into at some point. SO I thought I would compile some of the repeat offenders to help show the difference. Of course, as I always say, anything that makes you feel more beautiful, works. There are exceptions to every rule:) Celeste (my little sis) what lovely enough to model for me: {same girl/same day/ unedited} Harsh Eyeliner: Why? It can be very distracting and can make your eyes look smaller. It is also difficult to get it perfectly straight and close enough to the lash. What to do instead? I am a big believer in a blended liner (especially on the bottom) I line the eyes in the tear line and the blend with a lighter color of eyeshadow {here} and a smudge brush {here}. This creates a very natural look and frames your eyes beautifully. You can hardly tell there is eyeliner but her eyes are still defined. Ignored Eyebrows: Why? Do […]

Baggage.

You look exhausted! Are you sick? I bet you could use a good nights rest! Such flattering questions slash statements are almost surely inspired by one doggone thing: Baggy, saggy, droopy, poopy, dark under eyes. And those same bags inspire this question that I receive maybe every single day of my life: How do I fix mine? It’s time I address that. First things first. We’d like to avoid having them at all. The way to do that is: gulping some major aqua getting your beauty sleep taking your vitamins being born that way I am aware that some (if not all) of the things on that list cannot always be attained, especially with babies around. I am also aware that (due to genetics) some of us (yes I said us, as in me too) could sleep for the rest of 2013 with an IV pumping fluids and vitamins into our veins and still be baggin’ In that case we move to damage control: Get yourself a de-puffer: It took me a looong time to finally try this. I don’t know why, it just seemed gimmicky or something. Finally, my SIL said it was her saving grace, which sealed the deal (she has the best recommendations) […]

Nose Contouring Do’s & Don’ts

In middle school, my best friend Shelly and I used to fight. Not like gossiping or flirting with each others’ crushes or doing sneaky three way calls or anything like that. We just, you know fought…or rather, wrestled. Often. We weren’t exactly ahead of the game, maturity-wise. Anyway, once during a particularly intense WWF style match she somehow ended up with a book in her hands and that book ended up hitting me smack dab in the nose. I will insert here that although I have no recollection as to what she actually intended to do with the book, it’s collision with my schnoz was unplanned and 100% accidental. Long story long, my nose ended up a little bit crooked. Which is why I HAC it. Well, that and I just think it looks more fancy a little sculpted up. Here’s how you do it: Small Brush – Blending Brush – Bahama Mama Bronzer – NYX HD Concealer It’s really easy once you get the hang of it and get used to the way it looks, but it is something I get questions and concerns about OFTEN. So I thought I would tackle some of those today: Q. I want to HAC my nose but […]

HAC yourself Flawless!

I cannot tell you how much I love this technique! Highlighting and Contouring (AKA HAC-ing) is the most miraculous thing about makeup. This is the magic that makes celebrity skin and face look flawless.   With no plastic surgery her nose looks MUCH smaller, her face looks more chiseled and her cheekbones look much higher.   Now, she is obviously A LOT tanner but aside from that, notice her nose, cheeks, and basic structure of her face… A lot of people are afraid of it but the ONE thing that should possibly scare you about HAC-ing is that you will get addicted! In this before and after below the only difference is HAC Notice how much straighter my nose looks? I never realized how crooked it is! You guys are going to love it. You don’t HAVE to HAC every day….Just promise me you’ll try it at least once! I used: theBalm Bahama Mama Bronzer Maybelline Dream Bouncy Blush in Fresh Pink Clinique Even Better Concealer Smashbox Artificial Light Luminizing in Diffuse I tried to find a brush set that would be as similar as possible: SEPHORA COLLECTION Rose Gold Mineral Brush Set
