Baseball Makeup

In my high school, if you were a total mathlete you’d take Pre-Cal, if you were fairly into numbers you took geometry or algebra but if you were a total math bozo you took Baseball Math (AKA Applied Math). I think it got it’s name because the Baseball coach always ended up teaching it in the off season. I took it in my Junior year when I had long ago given up on understanding any of that. What I discovered was that somewhere along the line I’d missed some really important stuff that was actually key to understanding the rest of it. Before long I was top of my class (admittedly this wasn’t much of a feat considering most kids...

Beginners Start Here.

When it comes to something like makeup it can be easy to get overwhelmed. You miss a few months of magazines and all of the sudden everyone you know is obsessed with DD cream you end up having this conversation: “what’s DD cream!?” “it’s like CC cream only better!” “Wait, what’s CC cream!?” “More or less the same thing as BB cream only with color corrector.” At which point you’d like to ask what BB cream is but you can tell by her tone she’s getting all judgy. Stila In The Light Palette  Urban Decay 24/7 Liner...

First things first. My disclaimer: I hear women concerned about having eyes that are “far too small” all the time. I don’t know who or where the idea came from that certain things on your face should be big and others should be small. Who makes these decisions? Some people have big eyes and others have smaller eyes. Some have big lips others do not. All it takes is one season of Beverly Hills Housewives to realized that some faces just look better with small lips! There is not one right answer for everyone here… but…if you want to play up your eyes and make them look GIGANTIC once in a while, I totally support you in that. So here’s...

“I don’t care” Hair.

After a particularly lonely and friendless 7th grade year in which the friends from my neighborhood informed me that we could only associate outside school limits, I made a decision. I was going to become cool. I figured it was an attainable goal. I’d get my older sister to help me with my hair and makeup, get some fancy new (name brand, of course) clothes and chum up with the popular kids. Easy right? Of course, my folks have 8 kids and weren’t in the business of shelling out the big bucks for school clothes, even for high aspirations like mine. Which meant in I’d have to work for my dad ALL SUMMER in the blazing heat as a stone...
